Flexible Part-time or Full-time schedule Experience preferred Pay negotiable based on experience Benefits Generous discount for personal animals On the job tech training as time permits Additional benefits if full-time status Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Experience working in a Veterinary Hospital preferred Previous customer service experience a plus English/Spanish Bilingual a plus Must be 18 years of age for full duties (due to insurance requirements) Job Duties Primary role in kennels feeding/medicating/bathing/walking and cleaning up after animals assisting Veterinarian with duties for patient care Hold or restrain pets during examination, treatment, or vaccination. Willingness to answer phones occasionally and provide client service via phone Ensure cleanliness of the hospital including but not limited to housekeeping such as laundry, dishes, mopping, sweeping, cage cleaning, trash collection and removal and instrument cleaning as needed Cleaning/disinfection between patients as needed Support the other hospital staff when needed with their duties Set up laboratory items (fecal tests, blood tests such as heartworm and cat combo tests etc...) Monitor the comfort and care of hospitalized patients (walking/cleaning notifying veterinarian of any issues etc...). Monitor and record information regarding the animals walking, elimination, eating habits and medications Notify the Doctor of any abnormalities noted with the patients behavior or medical conditions Assist in maintaining inventory of needed items for the clinic including ordering/restocking Need the ability to lift 50+ lbs at a time to help move debilitated or anesthetized animals Other job duties as assigned. Office hours 8 am to 5:30 pm M-F and 8:30-12:30 on (every other) Saturday. Capabilities and Experience Must be a team player and able to work well with others Ability to multi-task

Special Working Conditions Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time. Ability to be confident around pets Must have mental processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently. The noise level in the work environment is moderately high. Requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform duties while at hospital. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb as well as manipulate (lift, carry, move) up to 50 pounds. Be prepared to walk or stand for extended periods of time and frequently work in bent or squatting position. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate equipment. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. May be exposed to unpleasant odors, noises, animal feces and urine. May be exposed to bites, scratches, and contagious diseases. May be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards and medication/controlled substances. Understands the importance of a clean and orderly facility and does not hesitate to clean and organize as part of a normal job duty. Ability to answer phones, assist clients and schedule appointments Must be willing to submit to a background check and drug screening test prior to employment
