We are a high-quality, high-volume feline spay/neuter clinic and shelter committed to animal welfare and community service. Our dedicated team provides compassionate, expert care to cats in both our surgical and shelter programs. We're currently seeking a Feline Care Technician II (FCT II) to join our team and support our surgical program, with additional cross-training in shelter operations.Position Summary:
The FCT II plays a vital role in the daily operations of our feline spay/neuter clinic and shelter. The ideal candidate has a strong passion for animal welfare, must have a minimum of two years of experience as a veterinary assistant or technician and a commitment to fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. This is a part-time, hourly position primarily supports the surgical team but also includes responsibilities across shelter care and administrative functions.Key Responsibilities:
Administrative Tasks Maintain accurate digital records of feline patients Communicate effectively with staff, volunteers, and the public Communicate effectively with staff via email Use laptops, tablets, and printers for daily administrative duties Utilize MS Office, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat Feline Medical Care Cross-train to assist in the medical management of shelter and foster residents Collect and process lab samples (blood), run in-house tests, administer vaccines/injections (SQ, IM), microchips, and SQ/IV fluids Monitor surgical procedures, including spay/neuter and dental procedures; assist with post-op recovery Administer oral medications as needed Proficient in safe feline handling, including restraint techniques Facility Support Prepare surgical packs, clean and sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean surgical environment Assist with inventory management and supply stocking Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized working environment Communication & Public Interaction Greet visitors and answer in-person inquiries in a professional and welcoming manner Support communication with volunteers, the public, and partner organizationsQualifications:
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to adapt to shifting priorities and handle multiple tasks Professional demeanor when interacting with staff, volunteers, and the public Commitment to a team-focused, inclusive work environmentWorking Conditions:
Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs and navigate stairs daily Flexibility to attend occasional meetings/events outside regular hours Required availability for two to three Sunday community vaccine/microchip clinics annuallyTo Apply:
