Village Veterinary Hospital is ready to hire a Pet Care Attendant to join our team and help keep things running smoothly when our schedule needs it most. Why Our Pet Care Attendants Love it Here A supportive, close-knit team that has your back Opportunities for growth and advancement in veterinary medicine Never having to dress up for work Free pet hair…on everything…forever What You'll Do Animal Care & Monitoring Provide food, water, and clean bedding for all animals as directed Administer medications under veterinary supervision following proper training and established protocols Monitor appetite, behavior, urination/defecation, and overall comfort Report any abnormalities or concerns promptly to the veterinary staff Safely handle dogs and cats of varying sizes, temperaments, and medical conditions Sanitation & Facility Maintenance Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, runs, and common areas during designated shifts Launder bedding, towels, and clinic laundry Follow all hospital cleaning protocols and infection control standards Exercise & Enrichment Walk dogs (including those that may pull strongly on leash) Provide supervised playtime and enrichment activities as appropriate Ensure safe handling of animals that may be fearful, stressed, or fractious Client & Team Support Assist with patient intake and discharge for boarding/grooming Support reception duties as needed, including answering phones during Sunday evening pickup hours Communicate effectively with team members to ensure continuity of care Maintain flexibility to support changing clinic needs, including shift adjustments and cross-functional tasks What Our Pet Care Attendants Bring Experience working with animals is preferred but not required Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail Strong reliability, teamwork, and communication skills Compassion for animals and commitment to their well-being Benefits You Can't Beat Financial Benefits A flexible approach to compensation that will reflect your skillset and future performance 401(k) matching & Roth Retirement Savings Plan Flexible Spending Account (full-time only) 529 Savings Plan Tuition Support Program (full-time only) Referral bonus program Wellness Benefits Health Insurance, including medical, dental, and vision (full-time only) Supplemental insurance, including accident, critical illness, hospital, short and long-term disability, legal plan, and employee, spouse, and child-dependent life insurance (full-time only) Up to three weeks of full pay for the birth or adoption of a child (full-time employees only; available after one year of service).
