Job Description

Overview Carnforth Veterinary Clinic in Victor, Iowa is looking to add a Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist to our growing team. Experience is preferred, but not required. We are a two-doctor, mixed animal practice which opened in July, 2024. This is a full-time position, with no weekend or on-call responsibilities. We pride ourselves on providing quality, compassionate care to all patients. This role is crucial in providing exceptional customer service and support to pet owners, while ensuring the smooth operation of our veterinary practice. The ideal candidate will possess a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism, creating a welcoming atmosphere. Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently. Handle incoming phone calls, respond to inquiries, and provide information about services offered. Process patient records, including medical histories and treatment plans. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the reception area and throughout the clinic. Support veterinarians with animal handling during examinations or procedures. Manage inventory of supplies and assist with ordering when necessary. Skills Proficient in animal handling techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff. Ability to perform animal restraint safely during examinations or treatments. Ability to lift and carry weight of dogs and other animals. Clear verbal and written communication skills.
