About us Cascade Veterinary Clinic is hiring a veterinary assistant/technician to work at both our locations! Our goal is to provide high-quality veterinary care with exceptional client service. Veterinary assistants are integral in the clinic - they help restrain animals, administer medications, prepare for surgery, assist pet owners, and much more. Becoming a veterinary assistant is just the first step in your new career in animal medicine. Candidates must be willing to work at both Cascade Veterinary Clinic locations in Garden Valley, ID and Cascade, ID. Hours are 8am-5:30pm M-F. Monday/Wednesday/Friday work at the Garden Valley location: 15 Veterinary Way, Garden Valley

Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians in providing care for animals in any way necessary Administer medications and treatments to animals as directed by the veterinarian Restrain animals for examination and prepare them for procedures Prepare laboratory samples to be shipped for testing or perform in-house tests Assist with diagnostic imaging procedures, such as radiographs or ultrasound Clean and maintain examination rooms and equipment Perform aseptic techniques for maintaining cleanliness and preventing infection Provide post-operative care to animals after surgery
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent Previous experience working with animals preferred Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures preferred but not required Ability or willingness to learn how to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively Strong communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work well in a team environment Willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures and technologies A love of all animals and the passion to help them

$16.00 - $18.00 per hour
