Veterinary Technician About Us:
We are a well-respected veterinary practice that has been in the community for over 45 years. As a part of our team, you'll have the chance to work with experienced professionals in a supportive environment, contributing to the health and well-being of the beloved pets of our loyal long-term clients in the community.Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in various tasks to ensure the well-being of animals under our care.Preferred Requirements:
Licensed (or license in-process) Veterinary Technician in the state of Illinois or experienced equivalent. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for animal welfare and providing exceptional care.Responsibilities:
- Perform laboratory procedures such as blood tests and urinalysis
- Assist in animal restraint during examinations and procedures
- Provide compassionate animal care including feeding, grooming, and monitoring
- Demonstrate knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to aid in treatments
- Assist in veterinary critical care situations
- Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness and prevent infections
- Perform animal catheterization when necessary
- Collaborate closely with the veterinary team to ensure efficient workflow
Skills:
- Proficiency in laboratory procedures
- Strong animal restraint abilities
- Excellent animal care skills including grooming and feeding
- In-depth knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
- Experience in veterinary critical care is a plus
- Familiarity with aseptic techniques for maintaining hygiene
- Ability to perform animal catheterization procedures
