Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. As a Veterinary Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in various tasks to ensure the well-being of animals under our care.

Preferred Requirements:

Licensed (or license in-process) Veterinary Technician in the state of Illinois or experienced equivalent. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Passion for animal welfare and providing exceptional care.

Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory procedures such as blood tests and urinalysis
• Assist in animal restraint during examinations and procedures
• Provide compassionate animal care including feeding, grooming, and monitoring
• Demonstrate knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology to aid in treatments
• Assist in veterinary critical care situations
• Utilize aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness and prevent infections
• Perform animal catheterization when necessary
• Collaborate closely with the veterinary team to ensure efficient workflow

Skills:

• Proficiency in laboratory procedures
• Strong animal restraint abilities
• Excellent animal care skills including grooming and feeding
• In-depth knowledge of animal anatomy and physiology
• Experience in veterinary critical care is a plus
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques for maintaining hygiene
• Ability to perform animal catheterization procedures
