Whether you're handling dogs, cats, or equine patients, your dedication will help ensure optimal health and well-being for every animal that walks through our doors. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and procedures by preparing equipment, maintaining aseptic techniques, and providing animal restraint. Perform animal husbandry tasks including feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, and ensuring a safe environment for animals and staff. Administer medications, IV fluids, and injections following veterinary protocols while maintaining accurate record keeping. Handle animal restraint with confidence to facilitate procedures such as catheterization, blood draws, or radiographs. Support client communication by explaining pet care instructions, answering questions about treatments, and updating medical records clearly and thoroughly. Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by disinfecting treatment areas, surgical suites, kennels, and equipment using proper PPE (Personal Protective Equipment). Assist with front desk duties such as scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and processing payments when needed. Demonstrate knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal behavior, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques to ensure high standards of animal welfare. Support emergency critical care situations with swift response skills and familiarity with veterinary critical care procedures. Contribute to the overall team effort by participating in ongoing training on animal handling techniques, medication administration, and clinic protocols. Qualifications Previous kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience is highly preferred; candidates with equine experience are especially encouraged to apply. Strong animal handling skills across different species including dogs, cats, and horses; experience with dog handling is a plus. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques necessary for safe procedures. Experience with IV insertion, medication administration, catheterization, and record keeping is desirable. Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently while adhering to safety protocols using PPE at all times. Excellent communication skills for effective client interactions and team collaboration. Demonstrated understanding of animal behavior and restraint techniques to ensure safety for animals and staff alike. A proactive attitude towards learning new skills related to surgery support and critical care practices. $21.00 - $26.00 per hour
