Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional care to our animal patients and supporting our veterinary staff. This is an opportunity to work in a fast-paced and rewarding environment where you can make a difference in the lives of animals and their owners.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with examinations, procedures, and surgeries
  • Provide animal care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise
  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinary staff
  • Be proficient in obtaining and running laboratory tests, such as bloodwork and urinalysis
  • Prepare examination rooms and surgical areas for procedures
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic
  • Handle animal restraint during examinations and procedures
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
  • Assist with client communication, including answering phone calls and scheduling appointments
Skills:
  • Knowledge of veterinary terminology and procedures
  • Experience in animal care
  • Ability to handle animal restraint safely and effectively
  • Understanding of aseptic technique for maintaining a sterile environment
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with clients and veterinary staff
  • Knowledge of pet care, including nutrition, exercise, and behavior
Requirements:
  • Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant (1 year minimum)
  • Must have a genuine love for animals and a desire to provide excellent care
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Must work well with others and support a positive team based culture
Job Type:
Full-time Pay:
$17.00
