Full Job Description Veterinary Assistant Job Description:

Grand Prairie Animal Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. Veterinary Assistants play an important role providing medical care for animals by assisting doctors and technicians. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in animal care and handling, with experience working in veterinary clinics. Experience working with veterinary software is beneficial. Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures, including medication administration, animal restraint, and sample collection. Support front desk operations such as client check-in, appointment scheduling, client communication, and patient record management. Perform laboratory procedures such as sample processing and basic diagnostic testing. Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized clinical environment.

Position Requirements:

Employee needs to be self-motivated and able stay on task Employee needs to be able to multi-task Employee must have proper phone etiquette, and be able to communicate well with co-workers and clients Employee must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours. Employee is required to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl Employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50lbs without assistance Employees will be required to restrain and care for unruly/aggressive dogs and cats
