Job Description

Position Title:
Veterinary Assistant / Customer Service Rep
SEEKING FULL TIME CANDIDATES ONLY
Veterinary Hospital Experience is ideal but not necessary. We will train the right candidate.
Reports To:
Practice Owner and Practice Manager Job Summary:
Assist Doctor(s) and Veterinary Technician(s) by caring for and cleaning of patients and all facilities, as well as, all other animal care functions involved in the daily operations of our veterinary hospital.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma. Veterinary Assistant Certificate Training is ideal but not necessary. We will train the right candidate.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Previous experience working in a veterinary facility is preferred but not necessary. We will train the right candidate. Applicant must come to us with a strong desire to LEARN! Must be friendly, outgoing, "people oriented." Excellent Customer Service and Communications skills. Bi-Lingual / Multi Lingual candidates are a plus. Must be willing and capable of being cross-trained for front office receptionist
  • Customer Service Rep duties that will be expected with this job.
Telephone and computer skills are necessary Must be a team player with a strong desire to learn. Must be able to accept and adapt to change
Physical Requirements:
Dependable attendance and punctuality is
MANDATORY
Must be able to lift 50 pounds Must have the ability to walk, bend, stand and reach constantly during a minimum 8-hour workday Visual acuity sufficient to maintain accurate records, recognize people and understand written directions Ability to speak and hear sufficiently to understand, communicate and relay information in person and over the telephone Fine motor skills adequate for utilizing various hospital equipment

Veterinary Assistant Daily Job functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1. Client Relations 2. Patient Care and treatment under direct supervision of Veterinarian(s) and Veterinary Technician(s) 3. Housekeeping, Cleaning /Maintenance 4. Appointment

Record Keeping 6. Anesthesia assistance 7. Surgery 8. Radiology 9. Dentistry 10. Laboratory 11. Pharmacy 12.
Product / Services
Marketing, Promotion and Sales to clients Veterinary Assistant
  • Customer Service:
  • Demonstrate excellent relations with clients / pets in waiting and exam rooms
  • Reception
  • Front Desk :
    Checking Client / Patient in and out of hospital.
  • Ensure that clients and pets are welcome and comfortable at all times
  • Build trust / rapport with all clients and their pets
  • Always Welcome and greet clients and pets by their names
  • Always Exceed our client's expectations of customer service
  • Learn our Hospital Veterinary Software
  • Learn Scheduling of appointments
  • Learn and effectively communicate / educate clients on general animal husbandry issues and answer non-medical questions:
  • Learn and effectively communicate / educate clients on correct dietary requirements and feeding schedule for their pet
  • Learn and effectively communicate / educate clients on vaccines and preventatives for their pet
  • Learn how to process routine laboratory tests
  • Learn and effectively communicate / educate clients on housebreaking techniques
  • Learn and effectively communicate / educate client on heartworm, flea and tick control / prevention
