Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role requires strong customer service skills and ability to handle all types of animals in a fast-paced environment. If you have a background in animal husbandry and are a fast learner we encourage you to apply Responsibilities
  • Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and surgeries as needed
  • Clean and prepare examination rooms and equipment for use
  • Assist with laboratory tests and procedures, including taking blood samples and performing routine tests
  • Provide animal restraint, ensuring the safety and well-being of both the patient and the veterinarian
  • Administer medications and vaccinations, under the supervision of a veterinarian
  • Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment
  • Communicate with pet owners about their pets' health, treatment, and any necessary follow-up care Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting
  • Knowledge of veterinary critical care and a willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift 50lb and restrain animals as needed
  • Familiarity with animal husbandry and pet care practices
  • Certification as a veterinary technician is preferred but not necessary
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • A passion for providing exceptional care to animals and their owners
