This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced, compassionate environment, supporting veterinarians with essential clinical tasks, animal handling, and patient care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help ensure every animal receives the highest standard of treatment and comfort.
Duties Patient Care:
Assist with animal handling, ensuring comfort and safety during exams, treatments, and procedures.
Clinical Support:
Prepare and maintain examination rooms, surgical areas, and medical equipment for procedures, including sterilization and maintenance.
Reception Support:
Greet clients, answer incoming phone calls, schedule and maintain appointment bookings, monitor clinic communications
Medical Procedures:
Assist veterinarians with medical procedures and appointments: administering medications, vaccines, and injections; preparation for surgical procedures.
Laboratory:
Collect, prepare, and analyze laboratory samples (e.g., blood, urine, fecal samples).
Client Communication:
Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' health, treatment plans, and aftercare instructions. Provide effective communication and collaboration with veterinary team.
Medical Records:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including obtaining effective medical histories, treatments, and medications administered and dispensed.
Cleanliness & Safety:
Ensure the clinic environment and grounds remains clean, organized, and safe for both staff and patients.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, and other staff members to ensure a smooth team workflow and high-quality patient care. Experience Previous clinical experience as a Veterinary Assistant is required Strong and effective communication and teamwork skillset Proficient animal handling and restraint technique Knowledge of veterinary terminology, laboratory, and procedures Ability to multitask Strong attention to detail Physical strength: ability to lift animals of various sizes Harness empathy and compassion of animal welfare and their owners alike
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour
