Job Description

Job Summary Paw and Purr was created with the goal of decreasing economic euthanasia and providing advanced surgical techniques at an affordable price. Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, where your passion for animal care and clinical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this role, you will provide essential support in medical procedures, animal handling, diagnostics, and client communication, ensuring a high standard of veterinary care. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced, compassionate environment dedicated to animal health and well-being. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including anesthesia administration, surgical assistance, and diagnostic imaging such as radiology and X-ray procedures. Perform animal restraint, handling, and husbandry to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and treatments. Conduct laboratory work including phlebotomy, sample collection, and processing for diagnostic testing. Maintain aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and assist with veterinary critical care and emergency medicine cases. Operate medical equipment such as anesthesia monitors, radiology machines, and laboratory analyzers accurately and safely. Manage vascular access procedures like IV insertion and animal catheterization to facilitate medication delivery and fluid therapy. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up care to foster trust and understanding. Qualifications Previous Veterinary experience is required Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and veterinary procedures. Hands-on experience with veterinary anesthesia monitoring, IV insertion, phlebotomy, radiology diagnostics, and laboratory work. Strong animal handling skills including restraint techniques. Familiarity with veterinary software systems for record keeping and appointment management. Ability to perform medical tasks such as medication administration and aseptic techniques confidently. Pay:
$18.00 - $26.00 per hour
