Job Description

Are you newly in the veterinary field and looking to learn more from an excellent team? Or do you need a change of pace from private practice or ER medicine? We are a surgery only hospital with a small but mighty team. We are open Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 6 PM so you will get to enjoy every weekend off! We are looking for someone with a "go-getter" attitude who thrives in an environment where teamwork, comradery and self starter attitudes are key.
Responsibilities:
  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing medical care to animals
  • Perform basic veterinary procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian, including laser therapy
  • Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas
  • Administer medications and treatments to animals as directed by the veterinarian
  • Assist with animal handling and restraint during examinations and procedures
  • Collect and prepare laboratory samples for testing
  • Monitor and record vital signs of animals
  • Provide post-operative care and monitoring for surgical patients
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, work with clients
Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a veterinary assistant or in a related field is preferred
  • Strong animal handling skills with the ability to safely restrain animals during procedures
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with pet owners and veterinary staff
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
