Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients while assisting veterinarians during examinations and medical treatments. This position requires a love for animals, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures by providing necessary support and animal restraint. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and stocked with supplies. Utilize veterinary terminology to communicate effectively with the veterinary team and clients. Perform basic laboratory tests, including blood draws and urinalysis, under supervision. Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian. Maintain accurate patient records and documentation of treatments provided. Practice aseptic techniques during surgical procedures and ensure proper sterilization of instruments. Assist with X-ray procedures as needed, following safety protocols. Experience Candidates should possess the following skills or experiences: Proficiency in animal handling and restraint techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Familiarity with veterinary terminology to facilitate effective communication within the clinic. Knowledge of aseptic techniques applicable in surgical environments. Background in laboratory work related to veterinary practices is preferred. Previous experience as a veterinary technician or assistant is advantageous but not mandatory. A passion for animal care and a commitment to providing excellent service to both pets and their owners.
