Job Description

Veterinary Technician/Assistant Vine Grove Veterinary Hospital is seeking a compassionate, dependable, and motivated Veterinary Technician/Assistant to join our growing team. We are a busy small animal practice that provides high-quality medical care while maintaining a fun, supportive, and team-oriented work environment. We are looking for an individual who is friendly, hardworking, and dedicated to providing excellent patient care and client service. While we strongly prefer candidates with a current veterinary technician license, we are willing to consider experienced veterinary assistants or unlicensed technicians with strong technical skills. Responsibilities Duties include, but are not limited to: Assisting veterinarians during examinations, treatments, and surgical procedures Monitoring anesthesia and assisting with patient recovery Collecting laboratory samples and performing in-house diagnostic testing Obtaining patient histories, vital signs, and diagnostic images Administering medications, vaccines, and treatments as prescribed Placing intravenous catheters and collecting blood samples Bandaging and treating wounds Preparing surgical instruments and maintaining sterile surgical conditions Maintaining accurate medical records and treatment documentation Educating clients regarding patient care, medications, and treatment plans Caring for hospitalized patients, including feeding, monitoring, and treatment administration Cleaning and maintaining animal housing, treatment areas, and equipment Monitoring inventory and maintaining medical supplies Following all safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements Contributing positively to the team and helping create an exceptional client and patient experience Qualifications Minimum one year of veterinary experience preferred Strong communication and client service skills Current Kentucky Veterinary Technician License preferred Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to work effectively as part of a team Benefits Health insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid vacation Paid holidays Employee pet care discount Continuing education opportunities Supportive and encouraging team environment Compensation Compensation is based on experience, qualifications, and technical skill level.
