Veterinary Assistant

Levy Veterinary Hospital is an independently owned small animal (dog and cat) veterinary hospital serving the Kenner and Metairie communities. We are currently seeking an experienced Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technician to join our team full-time. Key Responsibilities Assist with appointments, procedures, and patient care Properly restrain patients for examinations and treatments using low-stress handling Obtain patient histories and prepare exam rooms Assist with diagnostic testing (including full in-house IDEXX laboratory, fecal testing, and basic cytology) Assist with anesthetic monitoring during procedures Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment and exam areas Stock supplies and support overall hospital operations Provide clear, compassionate communication with clients This role will begin with a primary focus on veterinary assistant responsibilities. As you become established in the position, cross-training in front desk/reception duties will be provided to support a well-rounded team approach.
