LocalVet Urgent Care is growing, and we're looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician with at least 2 years of clinical experience to join our team. We are a privately owned, veterinarian-led urgent care practice focused on providing high-quality medicine while keeping veterinary care compassionate, accessible, and affordable. WHAT YOU'LL DO

As an experienced Veterinary Technician/Assistant, you'll be an important part of our medical team and will work closely with our veterinarians to provide exceptional patient care.

Your responsibilities will include:

Triage urgent care patients and obtain accurate histories and vital signs Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters Collect laboratory samples and perform in-house diagnostics Monitor sedated and anesthetized patients before, during, and after procedures Obtain quality digital radiographs using proper positioning and safety techniques Calculate and administer medications accurately Assist with surgical and medical procedures Monitor hospitalized and critical patients Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns quickly Maintain accurate medical records and controlled drug documentation Assist with emergency and urgent care cases Communicate with clients compassionately and professionally Educate clients regarding treatments, medications, and patient care Help maintain a clean, organized, and safe hospital Support and mentor less experienced team members Contribute ideas that help improve patient care, workflow, and the overall client experience

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are looking for someone who is experienced, dependable, confident, and genuinely passionate about veterinary medicine.

Required:

Minimum 2 years of veterinary clinical experience Strong technical and patient care skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Confident with venipuncture and IV catheter placement Comfortable monitoring anesthesia and sedated patients Strong communication and client service skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to prioritize and multitask Reliable and dependable Positive, team-oriented attitude Willingness to learn and grow Urgent care, emergency, surgical, or specialty experience is a plus!
