The Kennel Assistant provides care and the basic needs of animals that are being groomed, boarded or that are patients of West Friendship Animal Hospital including cleaning of cages, runs and ward areas, laundry, walking, and proper feeding, medicating, toe nail trims, ear cleaning, anal glands and care of all hospitalized patients. Candidates should have past experience in the veterinary field, be committed to providing the best quality client and patient care, have strong communication skills and be efficient at multitasking. We are looking for a professional, reliable person with a good work ethic and has an interest in settling into the veterinary field long term. The veterinary assistant (veterinary nurse) is the technician's primary support. They assist in a wide variety of duties throughout the hospital, to include but not limited too patient restraint and test set up for the examination procedure. The vet assistant aides the technicians in achieving greater efficiency by relieving them of some of the routine work and in freeing up the technicians to assist the veterinarian with medical procedures. We are looking for the right individual that can fill both roles.
