Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant/ Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. As a Veterinary Assistant/Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians and ensuring the well-being of our animal patients. Duties Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, providing hands-on support with animals. Monitor animal health by observing behavior and reporting any changes to the veterinary team. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic, including sterilizing instruments and cleaning examination rooms. Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners regarding their pets' care and treatment plans. Keep accurate records of patient information, treatments, and medications administered. Requirements Previous experience in a veterinary setting or relevant coursework in animal care is required. Knowledge of animal physiology, husbandry, and basic veterinary terminology is essential. Skills in pet handling various types of animals are highly desirable. Familiarity with dental terminology related to animal care is a plus. Ability to perform tasks requiring physical stamina, including up to 50 pounds. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with team members and pet owners. A commitment to providing high-quality care for all animals while adhering to safety protocols. Strong technician skillset including, but not limited to giving injections, blood draws, assist with animal catheterization and other medical procedures as needed.
