Join Our Team! Woodland Animal Hospital is a privately owned, growing two-doctor practice in Brighton, Michigan, and we're looking to add a full-time Veterinary Assistant or Licensed Veterinary Technician to our team. We're passionate about providing compassionate, high-quality veterinary care while creating a workplace where our team genuinely enjoys working together. Whether you're an experienced Veterinary Assistant, a Licensed Veterinary Technician, or a recent graduate eager to continue learning, we'd love to hear from you. Position Details Full-time Approximately 36-40 hours per week Variable weekdays 2-3 Saturday mornings per month required No Sundays No major holidays (PAID) Paid lunch breaks
Pay:
$17.00-$22.00 per hour (Starting compensation is based on licensure, experience, technical skills, and overall qualifications.)
Shift Details Monday-Friday:
8:00 AM-5:30
PM Saturday:
8:00 AM-12:30 PM What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is: Kind and compassionate Reliable and accountable Curious and eager to learn Calm under pressure A strong communicator with clients and teammates Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Excited to contribute wherever help is needed Veterinary assistant experience, veterinary technician experience, or recent completion of a Veterinary Assistant or Veterinary Technology program is preferred. Strong animal handling skills are highly valued. Responsibilities Responsibilities may vary based on experience and licensure but may include: Patient Care Rooming appointments and obtaining patient histories Proper restraint and handling of patients Assisting veterinarians during examinations and procedures Venipuncture and laboratory sample collection Preparing in-house and reference laboratory samples Assisting with radiographs Vaccine preparation and administration Nail trims and anal gland expressions Filling prescriptions Client education and discharge instructions Surgery & Dentistry Preparing patients for surgery and dental procedures Cleaning, wrapping, and sterilizing surgical instruments Preparing surgical packs Monitoring anesthesia (based on experience and licensure) Assisting with dental procedures General Hospital Support Restocking supplies Maintaining a clean, organized hospital Supporting teammates wherever help is needed Helping create a positive experience for every client and patient Why Woodland?
