Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and/or Technician, where your enthusiasm and expertise will directly contribute to the health and well-being of cats and dogs. In this energetic role, you will support veterinary professionals by providing compassionate animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring the smooth operation of our busy clinic. Your dedication will help create a positive environment for pets and their owners while advancing your career in veterinary medicine. Duties Assist with animal handling, restraint, and care to ensure safety and comfort during examinations and procedures Prepare animals for surgery, including cleaning, positioning, and aseptic technique application Administer medications, IV fluids, and injections following veterinary protocols and safety standards Support laboratory work such as sample collection, processing, and record keeping for diagnostic testing Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas, kennels, surgical suites, and equipment using proper animal husbandry practices Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, medication schedules, and follow-up needs Support front desk responsibilities including client communication, appointment scheduling, and record management Requirements Proven kennel experience combined with veterinary technician or assistant experience Hands-on veterinary critical care experience is highly desirable Strong animal handling skills , including dogs and cats Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and animal behavior Experience with animal restraint techniques, catheterization, medication administration, and aseptic procedures Ability to perform IV insertions accurately while maintaining aseptic technique Familiarity with laboratory procedures and record keeping within a veterinary setting Excellent communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while adhering to safety protocols including PPE use This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your skills in a supportive environment dedicated to animal welfare.
