Join our veterinary team as an Animal Hospital Kennel Worker! In this role, you will provide exceptional care and handling for our boarding animals (dogs, cats, and exotics) and house cats, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being during their stay. Your energetic and compassionate approach will support veterinary staff by maintaining a clean, organized, and nurturing environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in animal care and veterinary operations while making a positive impact on pets and their owners. Duties Safely handle animals of various sizes and temperaments using proper animal handling techniques Assist with animal tasks such as feeding, walking, and cleaning the kennel and outdoor areas to maintain a hygienic environment Support veterinary technicians with medication administration for boarders, including oral, topical, or injectable treatments Monitor animals' health status by observing temperment/behavior, appetite, water intake, and reporting any concerns to veterinary staff promptly Maintain cleanliness of kennel, treatment areas, and equipment to uphold health standards and prevent infections Assist with laboratory procedures such as sample collection as directed by veterinary personnel Qualifications (Training Included, Entry Level Welcome) Prior kennel experience or animal care background preferred but not required Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and restraint techniques preferred but not required Experience with pet care routines including feeding, grooming, and basic medical procedures like medication administration preferred but not required Ability to handle animals confidently using handling skills preferred but not required Veterinary clinic or assistant experience highly desirable but not required Excellent communication skills for working effectively with team members is preferred This role is perfect for motivated individuals passionate about animal welfare, those who are good at keeping themselves busy, and those who want to develop their skills in a compassionate, full-service care veterinary environment.
