Full Job Description Position Summary:
Part Time Veterinary Assistant/ Animal Care Technician is responsible for assisting our veterinarians and technicians along with helping keep our facility clean. Managing effective and efficient daily operations of our facility in accordance with the organization's mission, philosophy, policies and procedures, and with the safety of people and animals at the forefront of all activities. The primary role of the Veterinary Assistant/ Animal Care Technician is to oversee animal care, cleaning, and facility maintenance, with some customer service interactions as needed. On average, you will be scheduled for 20 hours per week.
Hours Needed:
Part-Time shifts (typically 8 hour shifts) during our business hours. Monday•
Thursday:
7am•7pm
Friday:
8am•5pm
Saturday:
8am•1pm
Sunday:
Closed Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting Veterinarians and Technicians Animal Restraint Assisting in exam rooms Taking X-rays Helping fill pharmacy meds. Responsible for ensuring storage, holding areas are clean, sanitary, safe, appropriately stocked and orderly. Ensures that the maximum standard of care (i.e. food, water, sanitation, safety) is provided to all animals cared for at our facility. Some customer service responsibilities Kennel care functions, including help holding and restraining animals Maintenance functions Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs ‪
Qualifications:
‪A minimum of one year of experience working in a pet care industry is preferred, but not required as this is an entry level position. ‪Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities. Skills in communication, ability to make good business decisions regarding the care and welfare of animals, to exercise good judgment when dealing with customers and staff, flexibility to meet the needs of the organization.‪
Compensation:
