We are looking for a Veterinary Assistant who is compassionate, dependable, eager to learn, and ready to be an active part of a busy veterinary team. Our Veterinary Assistants play an important role in patient care and hospital flow. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys helping animals, supporting teammates, and making a difference every day. Full-time and part-time opportunities are available. What You'll Do Assist veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with patient care Help with restraint, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures Prepare and maintain exam rooms and treatment areas Assist with hospitalized and surgical patients Support laboratory and pharmacy workflows Help keep patients comfortable, clean, and safe Communicate with clients as appropriate Maintain accurate records and support efficient hospital flow Work closely with veterinarians, technicians, CSRs, and fellow assistants Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional environment What We're Looking For You may be a great fit if you: Have a genuine desire to help animals and people Are dependable, organized, and willing to jump in where needed Communicate clearly and professionally Stay calm in a fast-paced environment Pay attention to detail Enjoy learning new skills Take ownership of your work and follow through Value teamwork and understand that great patient care takes all of us Veterinary experience is a plus, but we are also interested in candidates with strong animal-handling, medical, or service experience who are eager to grow. Schedule Great Lakes Hospital for Animals is open Monday through Saturday. Full-time team members typically enjoy a four-day work week. Schedules may include a combination of daytime and evening shifts, with Saturdays typically scheduled only once every 3-4 weeks.
