Responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kennels, cages, and treatment areas to promote optimal health and hygiene standards. Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Administer medications and treatments under veterinary supervision, following proper aseptic techniques and protocols. Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with laboratory sample collection, processing, and basic diagnostics. Handle animals with care during intake, discharge, or transfer processes while ensuring proper documentation of all procedures. Monitor animal behavior and health status throughout their stay, reporting any concerns or abnormalities promptly. Assist front desk staff with pet check-ins, appointments, and client communication to ensure smooth clinic operations. Skills Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry knowledge to manage diverse pet populations effectively. Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal physiology, anatomy, and basic laboratory procedures. Strong animal handling skills including dog handling, pet care techniques, and animal restraint methods. Experience in medication administration, aseptic technique, and animal catheterization procedures. Knowledge of veterinary clinic operations including front desk responsibilities and client interaction. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure situations requiring veterinary critical care experience or emergency response skills.
