Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. You will be integral to supporting veterinarians, ensuring optimal animal health, and delivering outstanding pet care through hands-on assistance and clinical support. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians with animal examinations, treatments, and procedures, ensuring proper restraint and handling of various species including dogs, cats, reptiles, birds and small mammals Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, and maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment. Administer medications and vaccinations accurately following veterinary instructions while observing strict aseptic techniques. Handle animal restraint during diagnostic tests, laboratory procedures, and minor surgeries to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Support laboratory work by collecting samples, preparing specimens, and maintaining accurate records of test results. Manage front desk duties including client communication, appointment scheduling, and maintaining detailed patient records. Assist with critical care procedures such as animal catheterization, IV placement, and monitoring vital signs during hospitalization or emergencies. Maintain thorough knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and emergency protocols to support efficient clinic operations. Qualifications Previous experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic or shelter setting is highly preferred. Demonstrated kennel experience and animal handling skills across different species. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, laboratory procedures, and aseptic techniques is essential. Experience with pet care routines including medication administration, dog handling, and animal restraint techniques. Familiarity with front desk operations such as client communication and appointment management is advantageous. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals.
