We are seeking 1-2 full-time or part-time experienced veterinary assistants for our 4-doctor team. We're looking for a self-motivated individual with a positive attitude, strong communication skills, eagerness to learn, desire to put patients and clients first, and a vision to help us grow! Taking initiative is a must! Requirements•3 years experience in veterinary medicine in a clinic or hospital setting Over the past two years, our facility has undergone many positive changes and growth, allowing us to practice and provide gold-standard medicine for our patients. You will be supported by ownership and management with over 15 years of experience in the veterinary field. The practice is committed to providing up-to-date, evidence-based medicine, and because we are privately owned rather than corporate, any concerns can be addressed promptly and directly. Our typical workday is structured to ensure efficiency and support. One doctor is scheduled for surgery while two doctors see appointments. The team is supported by four assistants/technicians on appointments, two surgery technicians, and three client service representatives. Our veterinary assistants are deeply involved in patient care and communication. They gather medical histories, educate clients, and help share gold-standard treatment recommendations while maintaining a supportive, pressure-free approach. We actively demonstrate our commitment to work-life balance by scheduling appointments with a minimum duration of 30 minutes for wellness/ vaccines and 1 hour for sick patients. We ensure that both our team and patients have the time and attention they deserve. Combined with the positive changes we've implemented within the practice (over the past two years), this approach has contributed to strong staff retention. Responsibilities include (but are not limited to): Client Communication/ education Gold Standard Recommendations Knowledgeable on vaccines and protocols Accurate Record Keeping/ taking adequate histories Client intake and checkout Lab Procedures (ear cytology, blood smears, etc.) Radiology Filling prescription medications Bloodwork call backs Routine Vaccine Administering Jugular and Cephalic blood draws Placing IV catheters Patient Restraint Maintain a clean, organized, and safe environment Calculating medications Anesthesia management Surgery preparations and recovery Cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments Dental radiographs, charting, scaling Uptown Veterinarian offers a competitive benefits package with no payroll deductions—ensuring you receive the full value of your compensation.
