Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant and become a vital part of providing exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by handling animals, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment, and ensuring the wellbeing of our furry patients. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a positive experience for pets and their owners alike. Duties Assist with animal restraint and handling during examinations, treatments, and surgeries to ensure safety for animals and staff Support veterinary technicians with procedures such as IV insertion, medication administration, catheterization, and aseptic techniques Maintain cleanliness of the clinic by cleaning kennels, treatment areas, surgical instruments, and equipment following proper protocols Help with pet care activities including feeding, bathing, grooming, and monitoring animal behavior and welfare Record keeping of medical histories, treatment notes, medication logs, and client communications to ensure accurate documentation Provide front desk support by scheduling appointments, answering client questions, and managing patient records Support animal husbandry practices to promote healthy growth and development of animals in our care Qualifications Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience preferred; eagerness to learn is essential Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and behavior is highly desirable Experience with dog handling, equine care, or animal restraint techniques is a plus Ability to perform cleaning duties diligently while adhering to personal protective equipment (PPE) use guidelines Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration Capable of performing physically demanding tasks including lifting animals and standing for extended periods Willingness to learn new skills such as surgery assistance or critical care procedures Join us in making a difference in the lives of animals!
