Job Description

Job Overview Join our dedicated veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant or Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. You will assist the veterinarian with a wide range of clinical procedures, provide exceptional pet care, and ensure a smooth workflow within our veterinary practice. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures by preparing equipment and maintaining a sterile environment using aseptic techniques. Handle animals safely and confidently, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure both pet and staff safety during examinations and treatments. Perform animal husbandry duties such as feeding, grooming, cleaning kennels, and monitoring animal behavior to promote comfort and well-being. Support diagnostic processes by collecting samples for laboratory testing, preparing X-ray equipment, and assisting with radiography procedures. Manage pet care routines including administering medications, performing animal catheterization, and supporting pet grooming activities. Maintain accurate medical records by documenting treatments, procedures, and vital signs with attention to veterinary terminology and animal physiology details. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting dental cleanings or extractions as directed by the veterinarian. Contribute to critical care situations by recognizing signs of distress or illness in animals and assisting in emergency response protocols. Support training activities such as dog handling or dog training exercises to improve animal behavior and facilitate smoother clinical procedures. Ensure the cleanliness of the clinic environment through proper aseptic technique during all clinical tasks, including laboratory work and sample processing. Experience Prior kennel experience or animal handling background is highly desirable for confident animal restraint and care. Experience with veterinary critical care or laboratory procedures enhances your ability to support complex cases effectively. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology is essential for accurate communication and record keeping. Familiarity with dental terminology, pet grooming techniques, X-ray operation, and pet care practices will set you apart as a well-rounded candidate. Previous veterinary technician experience or equivalent training provides a strong foundation for supporting diverse clinical needs. Dog handling skills contribute to creating a positive environment for animals during their visits.
