Job Summary:
Join Our Veterinary Team! We are looking for a compassionate, hardworking Veterinary Assistant to join our privately owned veterinary practice. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will work alongside veterinarians and technicians in a fast paced but rewarding environment where no two days are ever the same. Whether you are helping comfort a nervous pet, supporting a client through an important moment, or assisting with treatments and procedures, your work will truly make a difference every day. We are happy to train the right person who is eager to learn, has a positive attitude, and is passionate about animal care. Duties Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with appointments, treatments, and procedures Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats with patience and compassion Help with laboratory work, sample collection, and basic clinical tasks Support pet owners during visits and help create a positive client experience Assist with front desk responsibilities including scheduling appointments and answering client questions Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the clinic and treatment areas Care for hospitalized and boarding pets by monitoring comfort, cleanliness, and behavior Help keep inventory stocked and organized for daily clinic operations Experience Previous kennel experience or animal handling background preferred but not required; eagerness to learn is essential Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal shelter setting is highly valued but not required. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and basic laboratory procedures is advantageous Familiarity with front desk operations such as scheduling or client communication enhances your fit for this role Hands-on experience with pet care tasks including dog handling, and proper animal restraint techniques. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced setting This Veterinary Assistant position is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about animal care and interested in growing their skills in veterinary medicine. $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
