Affton, MO 63123 Job Description We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Experienced Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our veterinary team in Affton, MO. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in clinical procedures and patient care, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities Perform blood draws and place IV catheters accurately and safely Prepare patients and surgical areas for procedures Monitor anesthesia during surgeries and assist the veterinarian throughout Assist the doctor in exam rooms during patient evaluations Support other RVTs and veterinary assistants as needed Occasionally fill in at the front desk, handling client check-ins and phone calls Perform cytology readings to assist in diagnosis Safely restrain animals, including aggressive patients, to ensure safety of all Calculate and prepare accurate medication doses Work collaboratively as part of a veterinary team Commit to working one late night per week until 7pm Clean and maintain exam rooms and kennels to ensure a sanitary environment Provide attentive care for hospitalized patients Communicate effectively with clients, providing education and support regarding their pets' health Qualifications Previous experience as a Veterinary Assistant or Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) Proficient in blood draws, IV catheter placement, surgical prep, and anesthetic monitoring Strong skills in safe and aggressive animal restraint techniques Ability to read cytology slides Excellent communication and client education skills Ability to work well within a team environment Flexibility to work one late night shift per week (until 7pm) Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills If you are passionate about veterinary medicine and enjoy working in a supportive, dynamic environment, we encourage you to apply. ```
