Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary assistant and become a vital part of delivering exceptional animal care! In this energetic role, you'll utilize your technical expertise and compassionate approach to support veterinarians and ensure our patients receive top-quality treatment. From assisting with diagnostics to performing animal husbandry and client education, you'll be at the forefront of promoting health and well-being for a diverse range of animals. Duties Assist veterinarians with clinical procedures including animal restraint, catheterization, and sample collection using aseptic techniques. Perform laboratory tests such as blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures to aid in accurate diagnosis. Manage animal husbandry tasks including feeding, grooming, pet care, and maintaining cleanliness in kennels and treatment areas. Handle animal imaging procedures like X-ray and maintain proper safety protocols during radiography. Support dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and assisting with pet dental care routines. Provide dog handling training, pet grooming, and ensure animals are comfortable during examinations or treatments. Maintain detailed medical records, monitor animal physiology, and assist with critical care cases for animals requiring intensive support. Requirements Proven veterinary technician experience with a strong understanding of veterinary terminology and animal anatomy. Kennel experience along with knowledge of animal handling, restraint techniques, and pet care best practices. Familiarity with laboratory procedures, X-ray operation, and aseptic techniques essential for diagnostic accuracy. Experience working with diverse species including dogs, cats, and equine (horses) is highly desirable. Ability to communicate effectively with clients regarding pet health, grooming needs, and post-treatment care instructions. Strong skills in dog training, animal physiology, pet grooming, and animal catheterization are advantageous. Must demonstrate excellent animal husbandry skills combined with a passion for animal welfare and veterinary medicine. Embark on a rewarding career where your skills make a difference every day!
