Job Description

SUMMARY We are seeking a hardworking, dependable, and compassionate individual with excellent communication skills and good character to join our well-established mixed-animal practice and its diverse caseload. Our mission is to provide high-quality veterinary medicine in a warm, friendly, and inviting environment. This position is open to applicants from a variety of backgrounds. Formal veterinary technician credentials are not required, although previous veterinary, animal-care, agricultural, or livestock experience is preferred.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Assisting veterinarians during surgeries and other clinical procedures Preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing surgical packs and instruments Assisting with laboratory work under veterinary supervision Assisting with radiography under veterinary supervision Providing kennel care, treatments, feeding, cleaning, and patient monitoring Safely handling and restraining small and large animals Cleaning and maintaining surgical, treatment, laboratory, and kennel areas Entering patient information and completing basic computer-related tasks Communicating professionally with veterinarians, coworkers, and clients as needed
JOB REQUIREMENTS A
professional demeanor and appearance, with excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, friendly attitude The ability to communicate clearly, follow instructions, and anticipate the needs of veterinarians, coworkers, clients, and patients The ability to multitask and adapt to a variety of environments and situations in a fast-paced practice Availability to work full time, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays Basic computer literacy and the ability to learn veterinary software The ability to work independently and reliably without constant supervision Comfort working with animals of different sizes, species, temperaments, and medical conditions The physical ability to stand for extended periods and assist with lifting, handling, and restraining animals Previous veterinary or animal-care experience is preferred but not required Agricultural or livestock knowledge and experience are preferred
