Role:
The exam room is the heart of our shelter, where animals receive their first point of care. As an Assistant Animal Health Technician / Exam Room Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring each animal's health and well-being.
Your responsibilities will include:
Administering medications and vaccines with precision and care Skillfully restraining animals for various medical procedures Cleaning and sanitizing cages, runs, floors, and rooms to maintain a safe and hygienic environment. Providing basic daily necessities and compassionate care to our furry friends
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have: A high school diploma or equivalent At least one year of hands-on animal handling experience, preferably in veterinary or shelter settings Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills The ability to work well under pressure in emotionally challenging situations Availability to work weekends Strong internal customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Certification as a Veterinary Technician or Assistant Experience with animal health and wellness exams, including vaccinations and bloodwork Familiarity with shelter medicine protocols and procedures Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team Compassion and empathy towards animals and their owners Why Work With Us?
