Responsibilities Provide attentive pet care, including feeding, grooming, exercise, and enrichment activities to promote animal health and happiness Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff Support veterinary technicians and veterinarians with medication administration, sample collection, and basic laboratory tasks Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of animal enclosures, treatment areas, and equipment following aseptic techniques Handle animals safely during intake, transfers, or procedures, demonstrating knowledge of animal physiology and anatomy Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments, managing patient records, and communicating effectively with pet owners Assist with specialized tasks such as animal catheterization or other veterinary procedures requiring technical skill and knowledge of veterinary terminology Qualifications Prior kennel experience or hands-on animal husbandry background preferred Experience working with animals in a veterinary clinic or shelter setting is highly desirable Knowledge of animal handling techniques across various species including dogs and equines Familiarity with veterinary terminology, critical care practices, and laboratory procedures beneficial Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting animals or equipment safely and efficiently Strong communication skills for interacting with team members and pet owners professionally A passion for animal welfare combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills in veterinary care This role offers an engaging environment where your dedication to animal care makes a meaningful difference.
