A Veterinary Assistant assists with animals under veterinary care or in laboratories. Feeds animals, cleans cages, and administers medical treatment under the supervision of a veterinarian or veterinary technician. Works in a veterinary clinic, animal hospital, or laboratory.

Job Description
Rate of Pay:
$16-22, depending on experience. Previous experience in a veterinary hospital setting is required.Hours:
Monday- Friday 7:00-4:00, 8:00-5:00 or 9:00-close (we close at 5:30pm
- Rotating shifts each week. Saturdays 8:00am
- Noon (1-2 Saturdays a month) Job Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):
- Animal Care
- feeding, walking, cleaning cages/runs, administering medications
- Assisting Doctor
- holding animals for procedures, prepping animals for surgery, assisting in surgery, drawing blood, performing a variety of lab work
- Client Communication
- answering phones, scheduling appointments, obtaining pet histories, client education, discharging patients
- Hospital Maintenance
- cleaning, stocking inventory
