Veterinary Assistant/Technician Tyson Animal Hospital Durham, NC Job Details Full-time $15 - $16 an hour 20 hours ago Qualifications Customer communication Teamwork Phone communication Animal care Pet medication administration Animal restraint Full Job Description We are currently seeking a full-time veterinary assistant/technician for our busy, four doctor small animal hospital. Responsibilities include assisting veterinarians with examinations, diagnostics, monitoring surgery, and maintaining a clean work environment. We work at a fast pace, so staying organized is key! Experience is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9am-6pm and some holidays.
- Sterilize equipment and clean examination tables and rooms
- Restrain animals during examinations or vaccinations
- Administer medications
- Scheduling appointments and calling patients
- Advise pet owners on medications and procedures
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable being around animals (cats, dogs, occasional exotics)
