Job Description

Job Summary Join our dynamic veterinary team as a Veterinary Assistant / Technician, where your passion for animal care and technical expertise will make a meaningful difference in the lives of pets and their owners. In this vital role, you will support veterinarians and veterinary technicians by providing exceptional animal care, assisting with medical procedures, and ensuring a clean, safe environment for all animals. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help deliver top-tier veterinary services, fostering health and happiness for every patient you encounter. Duties Assist with animal restraint, handling, and positioning to facilitate examinations, treatments, and diagnostic procedures. Prepare animals for surgery or diagnostic tests by performing animal husbandry tasks and maintaining aseptic techniques. Support veterinary staff with laboratory work, including sample collection, processing, and analysis. Administer pet care routines such as feeding, grooming, and pet grooming to ensure animals are comfortable and well-cared-for. Operate diagnostic equipment including X-ray machines, ensuring proper positioning and safety protocols are followed. Assist with dental procedures by understanding dental terminology and supporting cleaning or extraction processes. Maintain accurate records of animal health, treatments, and procedures while adhering to veterinary terminology standards. Support pet owners with pet care advice and education on animal physiology, anatomy, and general health practices. Qualifications Proven kennel experience or hands-on animal handling skills in a veterinary or shelter setting. Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, physiology, and critical care procedures. Experience with dog handling techniques, dog training basics, pet grooming, and animal restraint methods. Laboratory experience including sample collection and processing; familiarity with aseptic techniques is a plus. Veterinary technician experience or equivalent certification is highly desirable. Ability to perform animal catheterization and manage animal restraint safely during procedures. Familiarity with X-ray operation and interpretation is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and educate pet owners on pet care needs. Pay:
$19.00 - $23.00 per hour
