Job Description
Overview:
Waxhaw Animal Hospital is seeking a dedicated individual with a passion for animal health. We are looking for a Veterinary Technician/Assistant to contribute to the well-being of animals in our care.Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in routine examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Ability to administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian a must
- Perform laboratory tests such as blood work and urinalysis
- Monitor and care for animals post-surgery or treatment
- Maintain accurate records of patient care and treatment plans
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
Qualifications:
- Certification or Associate Degree in Veterinary Technology preferred
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital
- Proficiency in animal handling, including restraint and care
- Knowledge of animal physiology and common veterinary procedures
- Familiarity with kennel operations and pet care practices
- Strong communication skills to interact with pet owners and team members effectively
Nice-to-have Skills:
- Experience in dog handling, training, or pet sitting
