Description & Details:
The NDSU Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (VDL) is looking for part-time assistance with sample courier, sample accessioning, and necropsy floor duties. This is a part-time, non-benefited position. The position is open to NDSU students or individuals with appropriate background and experience. The role will start in summer of 2026. Job duties include, but are not limited to: Work closely with administrative and receiving personnel to review and log sample information and diagnostic test requests in the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) in a timely and accurate manner. Pickup diagnostic samples from local clinics (within 30 miles of the VDL) Assist pathology team with necropsy (animal autopsy) procedures and post-mortem floor organization and cleanup This role involves working with samples that potentially contain zoonotic pathogens. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided. Rabies pre-exposure prophylaxis series (or willingness to obtain) is required. The
NDSU VDL
will pay for rabies titer check(s).
Requirements:
Must have veterinary, animal science, or agricultural background or major. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Organized, self-motivated, and able to multitask Have reliable transportation to the laboratory and must possess a valid driver's license Daily availability preferred (flexible between 8am-5pm) with time required around noon for courier pickups.

Part-time, hourly
Schedule:
5-20 hours/week (flexible between 8am-5pm). Daily availability preferred.
Pay:
