You'll have the opportunity to gain hands-on veterinary experience while working toward a professional certification, with training and support from our experienced medical team. Whether you're just starting your veterinary career or already have experience working with animals, we want to help you develop your skills and succeed. What You'll Do As a Veterinary Assistant, you'll work alongside veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians to provide compassionate, high-quality patient care. Safely handle and restrain dogs and cats using low-stress techniques. Assist veterinarians and LVTs during examinations, treatments, and procedures. Prepare patients, equipment, and supplies for appointments and medical procedures. Collect and prepare laboratory samples as trained and permitted. Assist with basic patient care, including nail trims, ear cleaning, and other approved services. Monitor patients and communicate concerns to the medical team. Maintain clean, stocked, and organized treatment and examination areas. Accurately document patient information and medical services. Support teammates and help keep patient care moving efficiently. All medical responsibilities are performed within your training, demonstrated competency, and applicable veterinary practice laws.
