Job Description

Job Summary Westgate Animal Clinic is hiring a full-time veterinary technician who thrives in a collaborative environment. We have five veterinarians on staff who offer wellness care, sick appointments, surgeries, and hospital care for our patients. Our ideal candidate has experience in restraint, collecting and running lab tests, assisting in surgeries, performing dentals, and helping with radiographs. Starting wages are based on experience and can be discussed at time of hire. We are a local, privately owned small animal clinic that prides itself on providing quality care for all who need it. Monday-Friday:
7:30am-6:30pm

Job Type:
Full-time Duties Assist veterinarians with surgical procedures, including anesthesia monitoring, animal restraint, and surgical assistance to ensure smooth operations. Perform laboratory work such as phlebotomy, diagnostic testing, and sample processing to aid in accurate diagnoses. Conduct animal restraint and handling using proper techniques to ensure safety for both animals and staff. Operate medical equipment such as X-ray machines, radiology diagnostics tools, and anesthesia monitors. Administer medications via injections or oral routes, following veterinary protocols for safety and accuracy. Assist with diagnostic radiology procedures, including positioning animals for X-ray imaging and interpreting basic radiographs under supervision. Support emergency medicine cases by providing critical care interventions, vascular access (IV insertion), and maintaining aseptic techniques. Maintain detailed records using veterinary software systems, ensuring accurate documentation of treatments and procedures. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and follow-up needs to foster trust and clarity. Every day tasks in clinic such as laundry, stocking, and cleaning.
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour Expected hours: 35.0 - 40.0 per week
