You will be at the forefront of animal husbandry, assisting with medical procedures, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and supporting pet owners through compassionate communication. Duties Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations and/or procedures by helping with handling and restraint as well as preparation of equipment or tools. Handle a variety of animals including dogs, cats, birds, and other small or exotic species. Perform animal husbandry tasks such as feeding, cleaning cages and kennels, and ensuring proper animal welfare standards are maintained. Support laboratory work by collecting samples, performing basic tests, recording results accurately, and maintaining laboratory equipment. Assist with administrative duties including but not limited to answering phones, emails, and checking in and out clients/patients. Maintain detailed record keeping for all patient visits, treatments, medication administration, and laboratory results to ensure compliance with clinic standards. Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and behavioral observations to promote animal welfare and client satisfaction. Qualifications Prior kennel experience or veterinary clinic experience is a plus. Familiarity with animal handling techniques preferred. Strong understanding of veterinary terminology, anatomy, physiology, and aseptic techniques is desirable. Ability to handle dogs confidently and manage animal behavior effectively during restraint or treatment procedures. Excellent record keeping skills combined with clear communication abilities for client interactions. Willingness to learn new skills related to surgery support, laboratory testing, and medication administration.
