Job Description

Veterinary Assistant / Technician's Assistant, Full Time (4 days/week) We are excited to share this new opportunity for someone to join our team in the role of veterinary assistant! This position is ideal for someone who is considering a career in animal health or as a veterinary technician & wants to learn as they pursue ongoing education. As our hospital continues to grow we need more help to care for our patients, so we're searching for our newest incredible team member! Court Street Vet is a busy 5-doctor General Practice Small Animal Hospital offering comprehensive wellness & medical, and advanced diagnostic & surgical care to our patients. Our ideal candidate is an energetic person who is self-motivated, reliable and compassionate•and interested in working with a fun team in a dynamic work environment to improve the lives of the animals in our care.
Shift Details:
Full Time (4 days/week: ~10h shifts) We are open Monday•Friday 8:00am•6:00pm, and closed on Weekends. No on-call or overnight work.
Compensation:
$13•$15, depending on experience.
Job Summary:
The Veterinary Assistants supports our Doctors and Nurses by providing animal husbandry & patient care throughout the hospital. How you'll make an impact: Work directly with clients to obtain medical histories on pets, participate in physical exams & medical appointments, provide compassionate care when interacting with hospitalized patients. Work with our vet nursing team to care for patients, including administering medications / injections / vaccines, when requested. Learn to obtain blood samples, urine samples, and prepare these samples in the lab. Learn to take radiographs. General hospital cleaning duties to include disinfect cages, isolation unit, kennel runs, and cat condos as needed, helping with end of day cleaning to include: vacuuming & mopping floors, cleaning & disinfecting surfaces, laundry, dusting, and (after additional training) preparing surgical instrumentation / packs, and other cleaning duties as needed.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Confidence around animals and pets. Attention to detail and appreciation that clean environments are imperative to the health & welfare of our patients. Must have a High School Diploma or equivalent GED. Must be 16 years of age or older.
