Edgebrook Animal Hospital, located in East Brunswick, NJ is looking for a fulltime Veterinary Assistant who enjoys being part of a supportive and dedicated team that focuses on quality patient care and excellent client service. We are focused on finding a full time Veterinary Assistant to join our team of professionals and will consider a part time as well! You will have the advantage of working with a collaborative team while maintaining a work and quality of life balance. As a Veterinary Assistant, you will help set the tone for the client's appointment as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities. The Veterinary Assistant is essential to how our appointments flow and our hospital operates, qualities we are looking for: Previous experience Flexibility in hours including but not limited to evenings, weekends and holidays Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments Excellent multi-tasking and follow through Enjoys working with people and animals and it shows Can remain calm under pressure Remains positive, professional and respectful Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions. Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on non-medical pet care (i.e., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, and flea & tick control). Managing medical records, charts, reports and correspondence. Hospital maintenance (including removal of animal waste) and ensuring that facility is neat and clean at all times—both inside and outside.
