Veterinary Scribe Pay:
$18.00-$20.00 per hour

4 days per week | Weekends required
Location:
Edgewater, NJ | In person We are a growing, modern veterinary hospital in Edgewater, NJ seeking a motivated and dependable Doctor's Assistant / Veterinary Scribe to join our team. This is a hands-on position that works directly alongside the veterinarian throughout the day , helping keep appointments organized, efficient, and focused on excellent patient and client care. The ideal candidate already has experience working in a veterinary hospital and is looking for an opportunity to expand their knowledge, strengthen their clinical skills, and gain valuable experience working closely with veterinarians. What You'll Do As a Doctor's Assistant / Veterinary Scribe, you will follow the veterinarian through appointments and assist with both medical documentation and patient flow.
Responsibilities include:
Scribing medical notes in real time during appointments Accurately documenting patient histories, exam findings, and treatment plans Assisting with client communication and education Drafting client emails, discharge instructions, and follow-up information Helping coordinate follow-up care and recommendations Preparing and maintaining clean, organized exam rooms Assisting the veterinarian during appointments and treatments as needed Helping ensure smooth patient flow throughout the hospital Communicating with technicians, receptionists, and other team members to keep cases moving efficiently Shadowing the veterinarian and gaining exposure to a wide variety of medical cases Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has at least 1 year of veterinary hospital experience Understands the pace and workflow of a veterinary clinical setting Is highly organized and detail-oriented Has strong written and verbal communication skills Is comfortable communicating professionally with pet owners Can multitask and remain focused in a fast-paced environment Takes initiative and can anticipate what the doctor or patient may need next Is dependable, punctual, and works well as part of a team Is eager to learn and continue growing within the veterinary field Weekend availability is required. This can be an excellent opportunity for someone interested in building a long-term career in veterinary medicine. You will work closely with veterinarians, gain exposure to real-time clinical decision-making, and play an important role in creating an efficient and positive experience for our patients and clients.
