Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for animal care and a strong desire to support veterinarians in providing high-quality medical care to pets. This role involves working closely with animals, assisting with various procedures, and ensuring a safe and clean environment for both pets and staff. Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures. Provide basic animal care including feeding, bathing, and exercising animals. Handle and restrain animals safely during treatments and examinations. Maintain cleanliness of the facility, including kennels, treatment areas, and surgical suites. Prepare and maintain laboratory samples for testing. Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian. Monitor animal behavior and report any changes or concerns to the veterinary staff. Assist in record keeping and client communication regarding pet care. Skills The successful candidate will possess the following skills: Proficiency in animal handling and animal restraint techniques. Knowledge of animal husbandry practices. Experience in pet care , including feeding, grooming, and exercising animals. Familiarity with kennel operations and maintenance. Ability to perform basic laboratory tasks such as sample collection. Understanding of aseptic techniques to maintain cleanliness during procedures. Capability in dog handling for various breeds and sizes.
