Vet Technician/Assistant Location:
Old Bridge, NJ 08857 Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Vet Technician/Assistant to join our veterinary team in Old Bridge, NJ. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in surgery assistance, room triage, and routine animal care procedures. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can provide excellent support to veterinarians and ensure the comfort and safety of our animal patients. Key Responsibilities Assist veterinarians during surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments and materials are prepared and sterile. Perform room triage by assessing and prioritizing patient needs upon arrival. Administer vaccines accurately and safely according to veterinary protocols. Perform routine nail trims and express anal glands as part of animal grooming and health maintenance. Monitor patients pre- and post-surgery, recording vital signs and reporting any concerns to the veterinarian. Maintain cleanliness and organization of treatment rooms and surgical areas. Provide compassionate care and support to animals and their owners during visits. Required Skills and Qualifications Experience with surgical assistance and sterile technique. Proficient in room triage and patient assessment. Knowledgeable in vaccine administration and animal health protocols. Skilled in performing nail trims and expressing anal glands. Strong communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to handle animals safely and compassionately. Certification or training as a Vet Technician or Assistant preferred.
