Role:
Wyckoff Veterinary Hospital is looking for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant or Technician to join our caring team in Wyckoff, NJ. Responsibilities:
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and medical procedures Collect and prepare laboratory samples including blood draws, urinalysis, and cytology Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian Monitor and care for patients pre- and post-operatively Take and develop digital radiographs (X-rays) Maintain a clean, organized, and safe clinical environment Communicate compassionately with pet owners regarding treatment plans and home care instructions
Requirements:
Prior experience as a veterinary assistant, vet tech, or in an animal care setting preferred CVT/RVT licensure a plus but not required Comfortable handling animals of all sizes, breeds, and temperaments Strong communication and client-facing skills Ability to multitask and remain calm in a high-energy clinical environment Basic knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, medications, and procedures Genuine compassion for animals and commitment to quality patient care
